Until July 2017, documenting the seasons of coastal Dorset. I'm a complete amateur so don't trust I'm always right. If ever you see I'm wrong - whether with identifications or in anything else - do say! Meanwhile . . . I've now moved to Halifax in West Yorkshire. Click on the link below to collect the new URL. BUBBLES

Buildings next to the Rochdale Canal in Todmorden, Yorkshire
I'm getting in a right muddle. I've been away (again) and while away I was struck by this awful thought that I should have written a Stuck Foot Post. And I began to panic. What if you had a Stuck Foot Post to put in a box and there wasn't a box to stick it in?

So, here I was at home, worrying how I hadn't Stood Still anywhere, just charging around and up and down and taking random photographs of plants and insects but not putting them on the blog . . . when I remembered the bubbles.

One of the places I've been to recently was Todmorden in Yorkshire - home of Incredible Edible.

There's a river there. And a railway. And a canal.

I was pottering along by the canal when I saw a bubble. I peered into the water, trying to see a fish through the reflections and murk when all of a sudden a HUGE bubble burst to the surface. Then another and another. They have some grand buildings beside the canal. Do they have whales in it?

Probably not.

But they do have big bubbles. I stood and watched them. And after a while I took out my camera and filmed them. So, although I need not have panicked (the next Stuck Foot box isn't until next month) I did stand still a while - for all that I was rushing up and down so much I almost forgot.
