There's one called Sea Lettuce which looks like land-lettuce leaves gone slimey (only a much brighter green). I have pictures of it but not on this post.

LucyLucy Corrander Now in Halifax!https://www.blogger.com/profile/14685242329129914772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-14223787404962585272010-10-16T21:43:37.736+01:002010-10-16T21:43:37.736+01:00Hello Leavesnbloom.

I have photos from beaches on the Atlantic shore of the province something like your photos, looking like some sort of abstract art. Each type looks lovely in its own way as it drapes itself across the sand.

I'm away to check out your visual fungi on your sidebar - I've so many wonderful bits of fungi to ID in my photo albums. :)Rosie Nixon Fluertyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10851979959739600135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-82781756946782844662010-10-13T21:26:40.525+01:002010-10-13T21:26:40.525+01:00Nice photos Lucy! Loved the science fiction idea! Now about the beauty: I think it is the eye of the photographer that saw it and used her skill in recording it so that others can see what she saw. I probably would have just stepped over all that and walked on, blind to the beauty you saw. Thank you!Barbee'https://www.blogger.com/profile/11316077390373348067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-36578678794182413712010-10-13T18:31:52.251+01:002010-10-13T18:31:52.251+01:00You've brought a science fiction image into my...You've brought a science fiction image into my mind, Barbee - that you wake up one morning and look out of the window and there's seaweed in your garden!

On a more serious but equally bizarre note, someone who lives by the beach where I took these photos looked at my post and made the same comment - that he hadn't realised how colourful and interesting seaweeds can be. Mostly, I think we look at the sand and the water, even at shells, and seaweed gets ignored. Strange. On the other hand, although there are seaweeds growing on the rocks, there's little strewn about like this during the summer months.

How are you?

LucyLucy Corrander Now in Halifax!https://www.blogger.com/profile/14685242329129914772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-62697810982537423892010-10-13T17:56:43.253+01:002010-10-13T17:56:43.253+01:00Your photos are beautiful!
