And with tiny creatures like this I can end up with a lot of background petals in crisp detail and no wings!Lucy Corrander Now in Halifax!https://www.blogger.com/profile/14685242329129914772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-57960377670616015802014-10-30T15:58:11.491+00:002014-10-30T15:58:11.491+00:00Hello Donna. Seaweeds - I used to look at seaweeds a lot but the cliffs along this section of coast have become unsafe due to accelerated erosion and a whole flight of steps has collapsed just where winter storms would bring up masses of different varieties all in one go. We'll have to see what the weather will bring this winter. Even more could break away.Lucy Corrander Now in Halifax!https://www.blogger.com/profile/14685242329129914772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-29233771220513858052014-10-30T15:52:45.219+00:002014-10-30T15:52:45.219+00:00An interesting post and terrific photos, I especia...An interesting post and terrific photos, I especially like the two insect ones. Yet another peculiar plant - looks different in its youth from maturity, behaves differently in sun and in shade - and the flowers! How many people would know this is a flower? No petals!

I have a post planned about ivy. It should be the next up. That's why I put the flower there. It can be seen in a much larger format on the header than in the text. (Not that I can guarantee it will be the next; I have the photos lined up but tend to be distracted easily and move on to another topic if another even more interesting thing comes up!)Lucy Corrander Now in Halifax!https://www.blogger.com/profile/14685242329129914772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-13308522799870423012014-10-30T15:47:16.035+00:002014-10-30T15:47:16.035+00:00Hello Diana. It would force me to come to grips with whatever they are. Their reproductive cycle can be extraordinary. They are other-worldly; rather like lichens which are hard to get to understand too.Lucy Corrander Now in Halifax!https://www.blogger.com/profile/14685242329129914772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-18552390354985185612014-10-30T15:44:50.961+00:002014-10-30T15:44:50.961+00:00Hello Tim. (Though they are broadly much the same . . . have different holdfasts but . . . ) Funny how one appreciates both beauty and rarity - and by 'rarity' in this case I mean a seaweed that is geographically constrained. Maybe when I track it down I'll find there are acres of it at low tide or after storms . . . but only here!Lucy Corrander Now in Halifax!https://www.blogger.com/profile/14685242329129914772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083229388630903702.post-9646992661204242482014-10-30T15:34:25.229+00:002014-10-30T15:34:25.229+00:00What is that flower featured at the top of your si...What is that flower featured at the top of your site?
